What is BattleProphet?

Applying Modern Analytics

BattleProphet is an analytical software built on its ability to simulate D&D combat. By running a combat encounter millions of times, every possibility is guarunteed to occur. That information is then analyzed and visualized for the user to glean greater insights than ever before.

BattleProphet can answer questions such as: How many rounds is this encounter likely to last? What % chance is there of a TPK? What % chance is there that my BBEG is killed in one round? Being able to see these statistics allows GMs to identify problems before they happen at the table.

Every fan of the game knows the problems with D&D 5e's Challenge Rating system. BattleProphet can calculate, for a given adventuring party, how difficult fighting each monster, or even an entire encounter, would be.

A Billion Battles Behind Every Decision

Go beyond basic stats. Our AI analyzes monster abilities, synergies, action economy, and even potential environmental factors. Visualize the battlefield and explore tactical options you might have missed.

Equipped with a greater understanding...

Understand the optimal moments for monsters to use their recharge abilities, focus fire, or employ crowd control. Learn how different party builds interact with specific monster tactics and prepare accordingly.

Distill your Homebrew

For the first time, play testing can happen in minutes rather than weeks. Because BattleProphet can numerically evaluate how individual elements of play impact combat, it can tell homebrewers how powerful an untested item or spell is relative to official material.

And not just for homebrew content! Worried giving a party a magic item will break your next encounter? Fear not, as BattleProphet can tell you exactly how much impact any given magic item will have in an encounter.

Worried your new ranger class feels rushed and unfinished right before a new edition release?

Frequently Asked Questions

Does BattleProphet use Artificial Intelligence?

Yes, BattleProphet leverages sophisticated AI and simulation algorithms to analyze combat scenarios based on creature statistics, abilities, party composition, and potentially environmental factors to predict outcomes and assess difficulty.

Will BattleProphet ever support other TTRPGs?

Our initial launch focuses exclusively on Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition due to its popularity and well-defined ruleset. Expanding to other systems like Pathfinder or future D&D editions is a possibility post-launch, depending on user feedback and development resources.

When does it launch?

We are working hard towards a launch date! The best way to stay informed is to join the waitlist. You'll receive updates on development progress, beta testing opportunities, and the official launch announcement.

What will pricing look like?

Final pricing is still being determined. We aim to offer several tiers, potentially including a free basic version for simple simulations and subscription options for advanced features, unlimited simulations, and access to expanded databases. Waitlist members may receive early bird discounts.

Does BattleProphet steal other people's data?

No. BattleProphet operates on the core rules of D&D 5e and user-inputted data (like party composition or custom monster stats). It generates all simulation results internally based on these inputs and mathematical models. It does not scrape, collect, or require access to external user data from VTTs, character sheets online, or other sources.

How can D&D be simulated?

Admittedly, certain elements of D&D -storytelling, roleplaying, or rule of cool- are impossible to simulate. Instead, our goal is to allow fans of the game a way to dive deeper into the mechanics and possibly remove a barrier to entry for some players.
